To: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation,
We, the undersigned, as fans of true great rock and roll music, call for the induction of "Supertramp" into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The group has influenced & inspired young musicians as well as the public for nearly fifty years. Supertramp's contribution to rock & roll has spanned the globe. They have sold millions of records, cassettes, CDs and now, downloads of their music. Many of their original songs have been used in movies, television shows and theme songs and covered by young as well as established artists. The Classic album "Crime Of The Century" from 1974 was nominated for album of the year and was not only continuously used to test home stereo systems around the world, but is still rated as one of the top album's released in the seventies. "The Logical Song" won the Ivor Novello Award and was the lead single of the number one album "Breakfast In America" which collected two Grammy Award's in 1979. 'Supertramp' set the bar for others to follow & laid the foundation for the direction of music we enjoy today.
The following hit songs have each sold millions of records with such songs as: "School," "Bloody Well Right," "Hide In Your Shell," "Rudy," "Dreamer," "Crime Of The Century," "Sister Moonshine," "Ain't Nobody But Me," "Lady," "Give A Little Bit," "From Now On," "Fool's Overture," "Even In The Quietest Moments," "The Logical Song," "Goodbye Stranger," "Breakfast In America," "Oh Darling," "Take The Long Way Home," "Another Nervous Wreck," "Lord Is It Mine?," "Child Of Vision," "My Kind Of Lady," "It's Raining Again," and "Cannonball."
With Supertramp's 47th Anniversary coming up in 2017, we see no better way to celebrate their contributions to Rock & Progressive Music than to Induct Supertramp Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
With Sincere Thanks,
